These stark words... |
For example, I attended a Ryan Adams show and the type of energy set off was indescribable. His music is poetic and profound, but Rock ‘N Roll at the same time. Also, witnessing Davey Havok of AFI live is beyond elucidation. His voice touches places inside of me and is beautiful to experience. Another event I will never forget is seeing Paul McCartney. He blew me away. His show was unbelievable. What is interesting about him is that he brought together a wide range of ages. I saw ages that sorted from young children to senior citizens. And standing next to a middle-age man who was literally brought to tears of joy is something I will never forget. All of these incredible experiences boil down to the deepest depths of the music itself and the understanding and relations to the words that cascade through the listeners and are projected by the sounds of the vocalist combined with the melodies of the instruments. Music has done so much for me personally, and it has helped me become a more sensitive, poetic, and deep person. So, pursue music and its depths. Listen to life’s songs and give them a chance to make an artistic and an astounding difference in your life. I'll leave you with these quotes:
“Music is everybody's possession. It's only publishers who think that people
own it.”
“There's no new direction. It's not more poppy or more rocky. They're just rock'n'roll tunes. I'll never change the music I write."-Noel Gallagher
“Everybody smash up your seats and rock to this
“Imagination is the key to my lyrics. The rest is painted with a little science fiction.”- Jimi Hendrix
“As you get older you will gain a bit more control
over everything. Don't let anyone, even your parents, break you. Find good
people who care about you and surround yourself with just them. If you can't
find them at first, find good music
and fall into it, let it hold you until they come.”
